Overview :

The presentation on Alice World is first of the series to make students of age group 10 to 12 years understand the arrangement of atoms in different states of matter.
Curricular Topic:

States of matter & the arrangement of atoms in it.
Connections to the Curriculum :
o Classifying the forms of matter.
o Properties of Solids, Liquids, Gases , Plasma & BEC

Learning Objectives:

To enable the students to:
o identify the different states of matter.
o acquire the knowledge about space between the atoms.
o identify the objects as Solid , Liquid or Gaseous.
o write the properties of different states of matter.
o create alice world demos and enjoy learning.


Activity levels :

Students can take up one example from any state of matter & try to demonstrate the arrangement of atoms & also co-relate the same with the properties .
Activity Duration:
o 15 min – demonstration
o 15 min – worksheet

Materials Required:
o LCD Projection system
o Alice 3 software
o Worksheets
o Chemistry Card (enclosed) for recapitulation / assessment

Classroom Arrangement:
o Students will form group of two .
o Find out examples for different states of matter
o Create Alice world demos.
